Plan of Action

Our social, educational, and community experiences propel us to offer programs and services with relevant resources that people can access in real time. We provide services in Pulaski and Bradley counties in Arkansas. Our guiding principles are empowerment, mentorship, and social emotional learning. Our goal is to change family and community dynamics, one family at a time.

We provide a quality Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) in Warren, Arkansas. The SEP's host site is the Union Hill Church in Warren. Our program operated in summer 2018 and summer 2019. Our focus for summer 2018 was literacy enrichment, technology integration, and utilizing library services. The focus for summer 2019 was career development and college tours coupled with gaining insight from professional speakers in their community.

Our most recent event was our Inaugural Self-Love Conference that was held on Saturday, October 12, 2019. The host site was First Baptist Church - Main Street in North Little. The conference was FREE and open to everyone ages 5 and up. Lunch was catered by Smoke’N Joe BBQ. All conference participants received a “Self-Love” t-shirt. It was a family-friendly conference. Workshops were age appropriate. Workshop topics were mental health, bullying, and substance abuse. The conference identified connections between mental illness and substance abuse, bullying, and social emotional learning. Most, importantly, it promoted our “Self-Love” movement. We know that when we truly love ourselves, we care and share more. Undeniably, we love others more in unconditional boundaries. We treat others with respect. We treat them the way that we want to be treated, as that’s with a whole lot of love.

Mental health professionals, educators, and community professionals facilitated workshops in an all-day event. The presenters and speakers invoked attendees to interact in a more socially acceptable way, increase awareness of behaviors that are beneficial to emotional and physical well-being, and decrease self-inflicting negative behaviors. We addressed the cycle of abuse, trauma, and/or negative experiences that are prevalent in our day to day lives. We suggested positive ways to help them move past hurt and create new ways of thinking and behaving that are healthy and viable for ourselves, our families, our communities, and society.

The keynote speaker was Arkansas Teacher of the Year, Stacey McAdoo. Our guest opening speaker was Jamaican Olympian and Entrepreneur, Dominique Blake. Core Dance, an internationally recognized, award-winning contemporary dance organization based in Houston, TX and Atlanta/Decatur, GA, brought passion for dance and healing to our conference in their performance of if…a memoir. The Writeous Poets along with Ron McAdoo entertained us with their poetic energy and words of power. Two licensed clinical social workers were on site to address any needs for possible immediate mental health services and/or guidance and helpful resources.
